A big congrats to our friend Frank Barca from 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Melbourne for being awarded his purple belt by Eddie Bravo this week.  Frank is over in LA for intense training and was rewarded for his hard work with a new rank in 10th Planet.

Wow, just WOW!  What an amazing weekend on the Gold Coast.  I travelled down to the Coast as the Gladstone representative for Fight Club Jiu Jitsu at the end of year gradings, tournament and awards dinner.

The day went even better than I planned and all students performed above expectations to lift the standards yet again at our MMA gradings on Saturday.

It was only a small group to kick off with 5 student testing for prajiouds (armbands) but the standard was absolutely outstanding. 

I thought I would start giving an end of week rundown of the goings on in our gym to keep everyone one up to date with the Gladstone Martial Arts Academy.

I little birdy contacted me today and told me that one of our favourite former GMAA students, Jessica Reilly, got her adult 2nd Dan Black Belt on the weekend in Sydney.

Last week we lost a former GMAA member when Peter Cotter passed away aged 47.  Peter trained with us nearly 7 years ago after he originally signed up his son Jay to train with us.
