A huge congratulations to Stefan Eccles who brought home to silver medals from the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu National Championships in Hobart last weekend.

Mixed results from our two fights in Rockhampton on Saturday night but a huge effort and heaps of courage from both of our Gladstone warriors.

Luke and Tekan, our fighting couple, have been matched to fight in Brisbane on the 7th of November.  It will be Tekan's first fight and Luke's third and the first time they get to fight on the same show. 

As I say in my BLOG this week, sometimes a loss is really a win.  Although Hayden and Matthew both lost their fights on Sunday at the Gold Coast, they both fought very well in what turned out to be extremely tough matches.

It was her 3rd fight in only 5 weeks (2 of which had been state title fights) and she was fit, hard and ready to rumble.  After the appalling decision two weeks ago that robbed her of the ISKA state title, Eilleen left nothing to chance on Friday night in Brisbane with a totally dominating performance over her more experienced opponent that ended early with a brutal KO in round 2.

A huge success is the only way to describe our second attempt at a local grappling tournament.  With many of the same competitors coming back for our second event, we also had many new faces and styles testing their skills on the matt - a total of 68 competitors! 

Our first BJJ belt evaluations under Fight Club and Daniel Lima went really well on Sunday despite illness and injury preventing 3 of us from trying out. 

I can't believe that this sort of thing still happens in our sport.  I am having trouble finding the words to describe how disgusted I am by the decision that robbed Eilleen of the ISKA QLD Title on Saturday night.

Woo Hoo!!!!  She did it guys!  She trained her bum off, stayed focussed, stuck to the game plan and fought her heart out for 5 rounds against a much more experienced girl to win the WKBF Light-Weight Muay Thai Queensland Belt.
